Fifa has handed down suspensions and fines to several Argentina players and the Argentinian Football Association following disciplinary breaches during the World Cup. Midfielder Leandro Paredes received a 10-match ban and a $90,000 fine for his role in a post-match brawl after Argentina's 1-0 defeat to Spain in the 2026 World Cup final.

Team-mate Nahuel Molina was suspended for seven matches and also fined $90,000, while Thiago Almada received a one-match ban and a $30,000 fine. Coaching staff member Roberto Ayala was banned for three matches with a $30,000 fine, and Spain player Gavi was issued a one-match ban and a $30,000 fine for his involvement in the melee.

The Argentinian Football Association was hit with a $321,000 fine for breaches of the Fifa disciplinary code, which included using a sports event for non-sporting demonstrations involving a Falkland Islands banner displayed after the semi-final win over England, alongside team misconduct and discriminatory chants by supporters. Argentina was also ordered to play their next two home matches with 50 percent stadium capacity, with one match of that sanction suspended.
