OpenAI is gaining on competitor Anthropic with business users, according to new data released by corporate credit card and expense management company Ramp. The information, which covers more than 70,000 American businesses, shows that OpenAI lost the market share lead among Ramp's paying business users back in May when Anthropic hit 41 percent to OpenAI's 39 percent. As of July, Anthropic held nearly 44 percent of the market share compared to OpenAI's nearly 40 percent. In separate developments, OpenAI announced a new Apple Messages plugin for ChatGPT on Mac. The tool allows ChatGPT to search, draft, analyze, and send iMessages, SMS, and RCS messages, utilizing AppleScript and Accessibility settings. The integration requires Full Disk Access and contact permissions, and it defaults to requiring user approval for sending messages.
