Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth visited Northeast Wisconsin on Monday as part of his nationwide “Arsenal of Freedom” tour to showcase U.S. defense vehicle production and strengthen the industrial base. During his stop at Oshkosh Corporation, Hegseth observed the manufacturing of advanced tactical vehicles, including the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle, the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles, and the Remotely Operated Ground Unit for Expeditionary Fires.

Oshkosh executives and production teams hosted the defense secretary to highlight the facility's capacity to meet military requirements. Company representatives emphasized that Oshkosh Defense has manufactured more than 25,000 Joint Light Tactical Vehicles for the U.S. Armed Forces and allied partners since receiving the original contract in 2015.

Ahead of the Wisconsin stop, the Pentagon advisory noted that the national tour is designed to revitalize America's manufacturing capabilities and emphasize national security priorities. Separately, Hegseth disputed recent reports regarding declining morale and poor conditions aboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln in the Middle East, calling those claims completely misrepresented.
