A tornado warning was issued for portions of Cuyahoga and Lorain counties on Saturday as multiple rounds of storms moved through Northeast Ohio. The severe weather brought threats of damaging wind gusts, heavy rain, lightning, and large hail up to quarter size.

The National Weather Service also placed multiple Northeast Ohio counties under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 9 p.m., while a Flash Flood Warning was issued for Cuyahoga County until 6 p.m. Forecasters noted that heavy rain remained the primary concern where storms tracked repeatedly over identical areas, leading to localized flooding and ponding on roads.

While a widespread severe weather outbreak was considered unlikely, the severe risk was expected to wane around sunset just after 8 p.m. A cold front tracking through Northeast Ohio brought the afternoon and evening activity, with lingering scattered showers and possible rumbles remaining overnight.
